Are You Giving More to Spread Islam than the Gospel of Jesus Christ? “No way! what a dumb question!” you’re probably thinking. Obviously, you aren’t doing so intentionally, but if you give nothing to Christian missions, you are giving to Muslim missions. Here’s how: The average amount of gasoline/diesel consumption per American driver is 500 gallons per year, or roughly 16 barrels of crude oil. Since the US imports 11% of its crude oil (at a cost of $55.67 per barrel) from Saudi Arabia, that means the average American driver is giving Saudi Arabia about $100 per year for gasoline. What does Saudi Arabia do with that $100? Obviously most is used for meeting the needs of its citizens and state. But about 2% ($2 per American driver) is donated for the purpose of building mosques and Islamic schools in non-Muslim areas around the world. That shiny new mosque in your city was likely built with Saudi oil money. $2 per American driver doesn’t seem like much, does it? It isn't, but it's more than the average amount given by Americans to share the gospel cross-culturally, particularly those areas considered "unreached." According to The Traveling Team (www.thetravelingteam.org/stats/), American Christians give less than ONE PENNY to reach the "unreached"! There’s nothing we can do about Muslim evangelism, of course, as long as we continue to import oil from Saudi Arabia. But it does call into question the amount we give to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. If we’re “donating” $2 to further the spread of Islam, how committed are we to “make disciples of all nations” for our Lord? I was intrigued when Courtney (CCM's Assistant) informed us last month that she figured out a way to save our department over $6000. (Now THAT'S a way to get my attention!) So Travis, Don, and I met with her to hear what she had to say. It turns out that it costs over $6600 every year to print and mail out missionary newsletters! Who knew? Courtney went on to explain how sending out newsletters in digital PDF format not only will save us (and the missionaries) significant money, it will also make it easier for people to access multiple newsletters and learn about ministries beyond those they already support. So here's the plan: each CGGC congregation and all current individual supporters will be receiving a response card to fill out and return to us (either via the post office or e-mail). Here's what it looks like: So keep an eye out for this card in your mail. Make sure to ask your pastor about it, and maybe volunteer to be the Missions Contact person for your church!
Let's go digital, and save money, time, and a few trees in the process. THANK YOU, COURTNEY! Prayer Praises and Concerns: As we look ahead to autumn and the conclusion to 2017, here are some ways you can give thanks to God, as well as intercede for others. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God" (Phil. 4:5).
July Finances:At the end of July, overall Designated Giving for the CGGC totaled $802,693, a 29.7% INCREASE over last year! Praise the Lord! Cooperative Giving totaled $631,314, a 0.6% INCREASE over last year. THANK YOU for your ongoing generosity. Below is the list of CCM ministries and missionaries in greatest need; please pray about how God is leading you to respond, and THANK YOU for your gifts!

Greetings Jesus’ name! A lot has been happening this Spring, so bear with me as I share news from the fields as well as the May financial update. CONGRATULATIONS to Devin and Tabitha Dillinger!! Elly Rae was born on June 5 at 5 lbs,10 oz and 18 1/2 inches long. Everyone is doing fine. Welcome, Elly! Please keep this young family in prayer as they continue to serve the Gamerco and Hooghan Nizhoni churches in New Mexico alongside Pastor John & Toni Thumma. Their financial support is urgently needed, and we invite your prayerful support for “CC 2735 – Pastor Devin & Tabitha Dillinger.” TRANSITIONS IN HAITI … We thank God for Steve and Shirley Mossburg’s seven years of leadership with Project Help-Haiti. The CCM Commission had the privilege of being in Haiti April 20-25 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of PHH with the Haitian churches, and during that time they met to seek God’s direction in a number of areas for Project Help.
Relocation! Latino Ministries is raising funds to help purchase their currently rented facility at 2000 Oswego Drive, Columbia, PA. This site houses both the Sanidad Divina Church as well as the Latino Ministries Training Center. If you would like to donate, please make checks payable to CGGC and send it to CGGC, Box 926, Findlay, OH 45839, earmarked “CC2802 – Columbia.” Praise God for His provision of this marvelous facility! A NEW VENTURE IN INDIA! Because the government of India has shut down the educational ministry of Compassion International, the India Mission has decided to continue that important ministry to the children of the Uluberia community, most of whom are too poor to afford other schools. CCM Assistant Director Travis Helm has launched a sponsorship program through which donors can provide $18 per month for the education and lunch provision for one of the children at the Mission School. Please contact Travis at [email protected] for more information on how you can be involved. FAMINE IN KENYA For the past several years, we have reported the ongoing famine that is affecting the lives of our brothers and sisters in central Kenya, specifically in the Kitui area. Voice of the Gospel Director Joseph Mwaura has alerted us that the people there are suffering immensely because of lack of food. Until government and other agencies are able to intervene, their only source of help comes from fellow Christians like us. PLEASE pray for and support with financial help, so that funds can be sent and emergency, life-saving supplies can be purchased. Go to http://secure.cggc.org/kenya-ministries to give online, or make out a check to CGGC with “CC 2831 Famine Relief” on the memo, and send to CGGC – PO Box 926 – Findlay, OH 45839. MAY 2017 FINANCIAL REPORT At the end of May, we are VERY pleased to report a 30.8% INCREASE in Designated Giving compared to last year, for a total of $518,123.37 in year-to-date giving. Praise God! However, Cooperative Giving (which is used to fund General Conference ministries and staff payroll) DECREASED by 6.5% from last year, for a total of $419,616.15. Below is the list of the ministries and missionaries in greatest need of support. Please pray about how the Lord might be calling you to respond, and contact CCM Director Ben Tobias if you have any questions. MINISTRY Y-T-D percentage of goal Shortfall
In addition, these funds are in major need of financial support for the purpose of ongoing funding. Current surpluses were designated for specific projects and cannot be used for operating expenses such as directors’ support and field travel.

Attached are the job description and an application for CGGC employment. All applicants should e-mail their résumé with a cover letter to CCM Director Ben Tobias at [email protected] by Feb. 28. Please pray for Betsy as she goes through the moving process, and pray for us as we seek a new Administrative Assistant. Thank you!
